Beginner's Luck (B.L.):

You will begin the creation of every character with Beginner's Luck (B.L.), which are extra points used to add or subtract fro your % dice rolls as you create your character (this helps in ruling out the law of chance as much as possible, giving you a little control over your dice-rolls).

Once Beginner's Luck points are used they are gone forever.

Roll twice on Chart #1 (keeping only the higher result) to see how many B.L. points you will start out with. Record these points on a seperate piece of scratch paper.

Once you are done, DO NOT throw these point out. See: "Beginner's Luck Remaining".

Beginner's Luck can be used to sway more % dice rolls while you make your character. As you roll on charts and tables, you will notice there may be a note (NO B.L.) at the top of each chart. If it DOES NOT SAY "NO B.L.", you CAN us Beginner's Luck to sway the % dice-roll result.

You can us B.L. to succeed in gaining a random treasure item at the creation of your character, but not to help in rolling up the specifics of an item gained.

Example:

Tasha created a character with 17 Beginner's Luck points. She will have 3 chances to see if she will start out with treasure items as she creates her character. A %roll of 71+ is needed (she will have 3 chances). The first roll is a 66, which is too low. Tasha states, "I'm going to use 5 Beginnger's Luck to get a 71. She then permanently erases 5 Beginner's Luck points, leaving her with 12. She then rolls a potion for her first item and asks, "Can I use Beginner's Luck to try and get into the L section of the potion list? I want to try for a Life Potion starting out. The G.M. replies, "No. Begginner's Luck can only be used to get an item, but not to roll for specifics of an item you get."

Now, proceed to the next step. Good luck!
